do dogs have to face the direction you’re facing during a heel position or it don’t matter. cause my brother’s pitbull puppy will sit on my left side, but not faceing the same direction as i am.
what does the dog do now if he hear the command? Does he sit next to you or does he go behind your back first and sit then in front of you?
That is a problem that most people encourage. They walk in the door and get the high pitched excited tone and the dogs already excitement is kicked up a notch. You should just ignore and even use that as a training period and then give praise when the dog relaxes. They want to learn even if it’s not always easy. Just imagine we had to try to figure out everything they were saying and then realize how hard it must be for them. They can do it though. Use calm persistence.
when you go and see your dog when its crying you are saying if you cry long enough or hard enough ill come back and give you a cuddle.
if you have a crate or baby gate put it in there while walking around your house.throw it a treat or 2 when its been quiet for 3+ mins practice leaving for 5-10 mins at a time only go back when it is totally silent, giving lots of treats, this teaches your dog you will always be back, so it might as well just wait for the and treat your gonna give.
hope it helps
all dogs have this problem. i know that its hard to do, but wat u have to do is to ignore him when he is crying or barking. start with simple methods of leaving the room and then coming back. DO NOT praise your dog when he sees you after being alone or when he barks. just ignore him. for more step wise help, search on google about puppy training.
My dogs gets very lonely, hes only a small puppy but if left alone for any time he barks and crys, any solution?
i wanted to thank you too
i’m gonna buy a labrador in a few months, and i want to be proud of him/ her. that’s why i must do my homework and get as much information (about dog training) as i can. i realise that if i want a good dog i have to be a good owner, and your videos are the best solutions.
i don’t think you have time to view all the comments but, anyway, THANK YOU!
not if you don’t have a leash on the dog i think the idea is to get the dog used to it then take the leash of
but if your walking wont he tie you up
Nice, you must be a prof. trainer.
good fella great vids keep up the good work, i have a english sbt i like the am staffs too they look very nice, when i look at the american stafford i can see pitbull in there somewhere believes me to think they have origionally came from the same lines along the road is this right ?
hey great video this was just what i needed thanks
Great video. I had my dog doing heel fairly consistently after only 10 minutes.
Do not give your doberman the reward (food or sth. else) right when she sits by your side. Always but slowly increase the time the dog needs to stay at your side until it gets the reward. Give the treat while saying “release” or whatever you want. I hope it’ll work out for you. Have fun training!
my dog is a genius but has only 4 months is a chihuahua
Take a look at my channel to view the “Kill That Mother Fucker That Stole My Money” Command.!
amen. took my doberman about a week to finally catch on to the leash now she knows! whats weird is that it only took her 10 minutes to learn sit!
i started with basics(come, sit, shake hands and drop) at around 9 weeks. just train in teeny sessions to keep his attention, and use positive reinforcement mostly at that age, just like with small children. by 3 months he had them down pat, and i could start on slightly tougher things. but, saying that, different dogs have different iq’s and willingness to please,
I have been teaching this to my 4 month old doberman and she does the finish heel, but she does not stay at my side unless I give her the command to stay. Anyone have any advice on how to make her stay until I release her?
3 month should be alright for you to start any dog training
3 months is about the earliest you really want to start. just don’t expect results overnight. puppies are very easily distracted and don’t really retain much training until about 18-20weeks, but it’s okay to start at 12-15weeks w/ obd. training.
at what age can i start teaching my 3 month old pit this?
Thank you for the tips!!!
God bless you!!!
NEVER apply a sharp tug to a Gentle Leader! It is NOT meant for that. Better to simply stop. When the dog returns to loose leash, resume your walk. May take you 30 minutes to walk a block, but he will learn.
